Mark Reinertson
A true Eugene native, Mark actually still lives in the house where he was born and raised. Mark is a life-long learner with a strong work ethic, only surpassed by his desire to help people in need. He worked many years delivering oxygen and medical equipment to people with whom he became very close. He more recently opened a coffee/espresso/pastry cart at the Goshen exit off I-5. Mark is married to Rose and they have three adult children.


Jessy D’Eliso
Jessy was raised most of her life in Portland Oregon. She grew up playing softball which led her to Humboldt to play in college. After moving to Eugene in 2013 she went through the baking program at LCC and is now working at The Market of Choice. Jessy’s mother (Debbie Shinkle) and brother (Pastor Mike D’Eliso) also attend CitySalt.


Joe and Kaitlyn Tepe - Collegiate Christian Fellowship
Joe was born and raised in the Bay Area. Kaitlyn is a Eugene native.  Joe enjoys the scientific intricacies of coffee, while Kaitlyn graciously tries Joe’s "coffee experiments".  Joe served as FBC’s college pastor for 6 years. Kaitlyn serves as an executive for Cascade Health and was recently recognized as one of Eugene’s "20 Under 40 Rising Business Stars".  They have been married for 7 years and enjoy creating memories together like date nights and traveling internationally.

As part of our Big Table Sunday interview tradition, listen along as we hear from the following individuals:

Maddie Young | Interviewed by Britni D’Eliso

Maddie currently works as a Kid’s Ministry Assistant here at CitySalt and is a senior at Churchill High School. She is passionate about acting, soccer and working with kids and is a student athlete graduating with all honors. This fall, Maddie plans to attend Honors College at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, where she will play on the women’s soccer team. She plans to pursue a degree in Pediatric Physical Therapy. Maddie would specifically like to thank the Fairchilds, the Children’s Ministry Team, and CitySalt for being so welcoming, open and supportive to her.

Bill Fairchild | Interviewed by John Rice

Bill is a man of many interests and many talents. Born and raised here in Eugene, Bill had a unique childhood which impacted him greatly and consequently led to a powerful “coming to Jesus” moment in his life. Bill is a lifelong learner, full of curiosity with a love of researching and pondering new ideas. He is never lacking an interesting conversation rising out of his latest discoveries. Bill is married to Margaret and they have two children, Liz Lemmon and Wills, with whom Bill spends ample time, camping and recreating out in Oregon’s amazing natural playgrounds.  


Mollie McAmis | Interviewed by Dusty Johnson

Mollie was born with a twin brother into a loving Christian family in Springfield. She came to trust in Christ at the age of three and grew up in Roseburg attending a Christian elementary school and Sunday school at church regularly. When her parents divorced in middle school, she moved to Lake Oswego with her mom and was very active in a youth group and mission trips. After exploring her interest in youth ministry, she later discovered her passion for nursing. She received her degree from Umpqua Community College and is currently a wound care nurse for Avamere in Eugene. Mollie is grateful to have the loving community of CitySalt and is currently is in the process of purchasing her first home in the River Road area at the end of May.

Big Table Sunday Interviews | November 2017

Here is a little about each of the interviews:

Introducing Sue Paris! (Interviewed by Pam Sand)
Sue is a joyful, kind, and courageous woman of God who loves to make others laugh.  She is a delightful friend, who can both celebrate the good times as well as walk through the tough ones with joy and an inspiring steadfast faith.  Sue is all about people, and has spent her life sharing Jesus’ love while teaching Sunday school, counseling, doing Bible studies, and being in relationship with her many friends, her family, and her church.  She was a hairdresser for 20 years, and for the past 12 years she has served as an Independent Senior Care Companion. Sue also has a passion for cooking, and anytime she’s involved you may find yourself getting a delicious treat or meal! 

Introducing Aaron Porter! (Interviewed by Mike D'Eliso)
Aaron is a deep water person who loves neighbors well, advocates for the least, and has a hunger for spiritual truth. He recently graduated with his masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Oregon. Aaron recently launched his career and currently works as a therapist for Looking Glass by helping young men overcome adversity and discover their full potential. Aaron and his partner Logan Knauss are avid adventurers! Outside of the counseling office, you'll likely find them challenging themselves to new heights on the face of a cliff somewhere in North America.

Introducing Sarah Withrow-King! (Interviewed by Dusty Johnson)
Sarah is the Deputy Director of Evangelicals for Social Action and the co-Director of CreatureKind, a project engaging the church on farmed animal welfare. Sarah grew up in Eugene, and has just relocated with her partner, Giehl, and son, Isaiah, back to the area after fifteen years on the east coast, most recently in Philadelphia. Sarah is the author of Animals Are Not Ours: An Evangelical Animal Liberation Theology and Vegangelical: How Caring for Animals Can Shape Your Faith.  She’s not very good at having fun outside of work, but loves the TV show The West Wing so much that she’s helping coordinate a fan weekend, like ComicCon, but for The West Wing. She’ll read almost anything, loves her gym, and always says goodnight to her dogs.

As part of our Big Table Sunday each month, we had the pleasure of hearing from Debbie Shinkle, Jared Sand and Logan Knauss with the praise and worship team from The Father's House. We enjoyed a time of worship, sharing, communion and conversational interviews gathered with our CitySalt community.

Introducing Debbie Shinkle interviewed by Julie Johnson
Debbie is a kind and compassionate woman of God. She loves to serve others and honor Jesus through her actions and gifts. She enjoys sewing, crafts, gardening, trips to the beach and spending time with kids and grandkids. She has two adult children, Mike D’Eliso and Jessy D’Eliso, and two grandchildren, Shiloh and Eden who are all part of our CitySalt family. During the week you will find Debbie working as a Financial Services Representative for Pacific Cascade Credit Union in Eugene.
 
Introducing Jared Sand interviewed by Mike D'Eliso
Jared is a devoted husband, father and friend. He works hard to grow his knowledge and understanding of his relationship with God and how that relates to the people around him. He is married to Pam Sand and they have three sons:  Maddox, Jaxon and Brexton. Jared enjoys playing, watching and coaching sports, while being an avid outdoorsman with interests in hunting, fishing and camping. During the week you will find Jared telecommuting from a home office as a Contact Center Architect for Veritas Technologies.
 
Introducing Logan Knauss interviewed by Dusty Johnson
Logan is a determined and adventurous soul who loves Jesus. She has been part of our CitySalt family for over a year. She and her boyfriend Aaron enjoy regular trips with friends in the great outdoors seeking opportunities to climb rocks, hike mountains and rappel down ridiculous elevations. During the week you will find Logan working in area schools as an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for the 4J school district.
 

Big Table Sunday Interviews | Sunday, August 27th

As a regular part of once per month Big Table Sunday's, we like to interview people as they share about their life and journey with the Lord. Listen along to interviews with Ally Mittleider and Shannon Kearney.

Ally Mittleider is a friend and former administrative assistant to the church while pursuing her Master’s Degree from Northwest Christian University (NCU) from 2015-2016. Before starting her career as school counselor, Ally chose to spend the last 12 months serving a Christian ministry that runs an outreach towomen in Cambodia. Ally was introduced to this ministry as part of NCU's summer mission trips during her undergraduate studies and it has been in her heart ever since.

Ally Mittleider just returned home in July and is excited to begin her first full-time job as a counselor at Willamette High School and to begin preparations for her wedding to her fiance, Cameron Goertzen, in February 2018.

Shannon Kearney is the founding pastor of our congregation (formerly known as SouthHills Church), which was began in the Fall of 2004. We are grateful for her instrumental role in the history of our congregation and are glad to have the opportunity to hear what has been happening in Shannon’s life and to pray for her future.
